OMBRE SHELVES

This beautifully ornate, rococo-style etagere with plate glass shelving was a rare find.  The heavy resin display combines the best of French and Italian baroque styling.  The design concept was to use a single color to show off its intricate beauty, but after some contemplation, the idea of an ombre pattern emerged.  Hand mixed acrylics and chalk style paint blending into each other gave the piece a much more grounded and interesting look, with its depth and density given its proper due.  Because of the intricate detail of the piece, it had to be painstakingly painted with a small artist brush.  The feet were gold tipped for a final, subtle accent.  This bold statement piece helped set the tone for our Tangent Style collection.
